Good Morning!

I had to take this picture and share it. The seeds for the morning glories were given out at the christening of our friends' baby boy...and I planted them according to directions on the packet.

After many weeks of patiently waiting for the vines to wrap themselves around the shepherd hooks (there is another one on the other side of the door), VOILA!!!

On the knitting front, Hubby's socks are done (picture to follow in the next post).

Gotta run..........have a great day!

I'm Speechless...

WOW...Lucky, Lucky Me!!!
It takes a lot for me to be speechless, but this sure did it.

Look what my friend Gail, who I consider a Knitting Goddess, made for me. A beautiful Flower Basket Shawl.

Peter & I went up to visit Gail & Mel yesterday and I was presented with this beautiful gift. Below is a picture of me (beaming on the left) and Gail. Of course I put the shawl on and never took it off until it was time to go to sleep!

Thank you Gail!!!

Oh What a Night!

Well, tonight was the August Starbucks Knit Night Out and a bunch of us turned out to knit, gab, and consume caffeine. In the picture above, you can see (clockwise from the left) Carol, Susan, Carolyn, Ellen, Sari (me), Ruth, Pam, Muriel, and Emily.

Here are the lovely Emily and handsome Henry...the folks at Starbucks who:
  1. - made our coffee drinks
  2. - took our group picture
  3. - admired our knitting

...AND, fed us cupcakes!

A round of appreciative applause!

Uh-oh...

"Uh-oh"...two little syllables that go along with a sinking feeling in one's stomach.

Well, that would be MY stomach after turning the heel on the second sock for my DH (Darling Husband) and then determining that I may NOT HAVE ENOUGH YARN TO FINISH IT!!! Uh-oh...

When I bought the yarn (Trekking XXL - 420 meters per skein), the woman in the yarn shop and I both thought 420 meters would be enough for a simple pair of ribbed cuff plain foot socks for a man, size 10 . I don't think that anymore...and put in a frantic call to the yarn shop this afternoon. Help!!!

Whew!!! There is another skein of the Trekking XXL from the same dye lot waiting to be picked up.

Enough drama for the day...................

Too Darn HOT !!!

It's been too HOT here to think about anything but trying to breathe...in...out...in...out...(you get it). Only a couple of rows on Hubby's socks, but I am on the second one so am in the homestretch.

I'm already thinking about the next project...and will post more after the weekend.
The weather report says the oppressive heatwave is over.....I think I will go out and breathe.

Hugs to you all...
